Utopian Folk, a collaboration between Utopian Slumps and Folk Architects, has brought new life to the Docklands Harbour Esplanade through a café from Seven Seeds, plant installation from artist Lauren Berkowitz, and community outdoor space.
The project, known as Hortus (latin for garden), was enabled through a partnership with the Victorian Government’s urban renewal authority Places Victoria, in addition to a considerable amount of in kind support from its project partners.
Hortus opened in May 2014 and will activate the Harbour Esplanade site until May 2016.
